Managing Mindfulness
It’s hard to believe that meditation and mindfulness training is taking over huge corporations such as Google, Spotify, Goldman Sachs and much more! There have been tons of research backing up the benefits of mindfulness in the workplace. So as a small business owner, I think to give 5-15 minutes out of your day to breathe and focus on making your mind healthy, will not only help your business succeed but at the same time focus on your mental health. Mindfulness training may seem a little intimidating at first, so here’s how to be most successful! First is simply to set an alarm for about 5-15 minutes (even if you only have a single minute, that’s okay!), focus on your breathing, and when your mind starts to wander, bring back your focus to your breathing. That’s it. Understanding why the brain thinks and reacts certain ways to different situations can help you take greater control of stressful moments in your business. Of course, there are many other options to exercise mindfulness, but in our crazy, hectic lives today it’s best to start simple. You’ll still be successful. In today’s world, everyone is always looking for some type of competitive advantage in their marketplace, perhaps getting to know our own brains and coaching them to work for us is the greatest advantage yet!
