Summer is meant to be relaxing. However, managing a small business can feel more like balancing burning beach balls than enjoying drinks because of this. Marketing often suffers due to schedule disconnection, slower traffic, and vacations. That’s why we’re here to help, with our Micro Marketing Club. We’ve put together 5 simple, doable tips to keep your brand active, during your summer.
1. Batch It Before You Beach It
While relaxing by the pool, nobody wants to think about captions. Set aside a peaceful period, plan your content for the coming week or month, and schedule it in advance. You'll save a ton of stress whether you use Canva, or even just notes or reminders on your phone. This could even help you enjoy your weekend without feeling guilty about forgetting to post
2. Tap Into What’s Happening Around You
Summer is full of shared emotions, outdoor moods, and local activities. Make use of it. Share a photo from your neighborhood farmer's market, partner with a small business in the area, or even highlight a client using your product while they are on vacation. Avoid analyzing everything and instead, focus on where you are and what others are currently getting accomplished.
3. Keep the Vibe Light, Not Pushy
Remember that people aren’t in heavy-buying mode, so don’t hit them with the hard sell. Consider seasonal, amusing, or useful content, such as short stories, business-related ideas, or summertime hacks. For instance, if you sell skincare products, demonstrate how they hold up on a beach day. If you own a café, share the iced drinks that your employees prefer. Instead of making a pitch, make it feel like a conversation and most importantly, make them feel welcomed and part of your brand.
4. Reuse What’s Already Working
Not every post needs to be brand new. Consider your previous work to see what did well and where your clients are showing interest. Repost in an original way. Pick an insight of the day and make a graphic out of it. Create a short reel from a longer clip you had before. You know you’ve already done the hard part—now let it work for you.
5. Don’t Disappear. Even if You’re Drowning a BitToo busy? Are you worn out? Just over it? Totally fair. But don't be silent, though. You stay genuine and connected even if you just stop by stories to say something like, "Hey, it's been wild over here, we're catching up and grateful you're here." People only want to know that you are still with them, they aren't expecting perfection.
Therefore, marketing does not have to be a full-time job throughout the summer. Simply maintain being present in a way that seems realistic, achievable, and in line with how life is going at the moment for yourself. You’ve got this. And if you need a cheerleader, the Micro Marketing Club is here and happy to help you.
